Auf dem Programm steht zunächst die Erkundung der Hauptstadt Nepals mit dem weltberühmten Hindu-Tempel, dem größten buddhistischen Stupa der Welt und dem geheimnisvollen Affentempel. Ein Rundflug bringt uns in die atemberaubende Stadt Pokhara, von wo aus das wahre Abenteuer beginnt: ein siebentägiges Komfort-Trekking, bei dem wir die besten und voll ausgestatteten Luxusunterkünfte nutzen, die Nepal zu bieten hat.
Wir wandern gemütlich durch die freundlichen Dörfer der Annapurna-Ausläufer rund um Pokhara. Unsere Wanderung führt uns nicht höher als 6.700 Fuß, doch die Landschaft von Annapurna I und II und der berühmte „Fischschwanz“ sind ein wahrer Höhepunkt. von Machapuchare sind wirklich unglaublich: Die 26.000 Fuß hohen Himalaya-Eisriesen sind nur 20 Meilen entfernt und die schneebedeckten Flanken scheinen fast zum Greifen nah. Zurück in Pokhara genießen wir die Stadt vom Temple Tree Resort aus, bevor wir zu unserer Safari in die erstaunliche Tierwelt des Dschungels von Chitwan aufbrechen.

Sightseeing Kathmandu! That’s the program for today. In the morning we will leave for the Pashupatinath temple, which is one of the biggest Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world located on the banks of the Bagmati River. The temple served as the seat of national deity, Lord Pashupatinath, until Nepal was secularized. The temple is listed in Unesco World Heritage sites list. Next we visit the Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath that dominates the skyline. The ancient Stupa is one of the largest in the world. After having lunch there we go to Swayambhunath, an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the north-west parts of the temple. In the afternoon we will drop you off at your hotel. Early morning flight to Pokhara (25 mins). We’ll have a briefing at the famous Ker & Downey head office before we transfer you by road with the guides & porters to our trekking starting point (1-hour). Our walk will follow a ridgeline in the lower foothills of the Annapurna’s with surrounding views of the enchanting Pokhara Valley and lake. This route then leads to the Modi River Valley, where Ker & Downey's Sanctuary Lodge is located. The lodge has magnificent views of the sacred and unclimbed Fishtail Mountain, also known as Machhapuchhre (6.993m). A picnic lunch is provided with a late afternoon arrival at the Lodge. (Trek time 3-4 hours). Stay in Sanctuary lodge.
After breakfast, we leave walking out through the outer farming areas following the Modi River Valley. Soon we begin to climb out of the valley and up towards the mountains. The trail passes through small hamlets, terraced rice fields and forests with spectacular views of the surrounding valley. We will provide snacks along the trail. A warm lunch is served on arrival at the lodge in the early afternoon. It is from this lodge that there are magnificent close up views of the surrounding mountains. Stay in Himalaya Lodge.
We will have tea and coffee served in the garden and watch the sunrise over the Himalaya’s. Our guide will take us on an extended exploration of this typical Nepali mountain village and the surrounding countryside. Ghandruk was once a major recruitment center for the famous Gurkha soldiers. The women in Ghandruk maintain a local industry of weaving traditional Nepalese rugs. Stay in Himalaya Lodge.
Today we resume our trekking to Landruk. After leaving Ghandruk, the trail descends steeply to the banks of the Modi River. Here, you’ll be at the base of the cliffs where the famous honey hunters of Nepal climb on ropes to collect the honey. You’ll then cross a suspension bridge to the opposite bank of the river. From here it will take about one hour on the steps to reach the village of Lhandruk. The village give even more glorious views of the Annapurna range. We arrive at lunchtime. Afterwards your guide will take you on a hike through this mountain village. Stay in Bee Village Lodge.
After breakfast, we leave the Bee Lodge and walk to Ker & Downey's Gurung Lodge. Today’s trekking takes place on a side of the hill, with small ups and downs, passing through villages and farmland. You’ll reach the Gurung Lodge in time for lunch with optional afternoon hikes to the surrounding villages. Stay in Ker & Downey's Gurung Lodge.
This morning we start out trekking through the unspoiled village of Patlekhet. Our walk takes us through sub-tropical forests with tree orchids, rhododendrons and magnolias. Along the way, we will stop at the village of Pothana where many Tibetan traders live and sell their souvenirs. After about 3 ½ hours, we arrive at the Basanta Lodge. From the lodge, there are sweeping views of the entire Annapurna Range. After lunch at the lodge there will be an optional walk through the old village of Dhampus. Stay in Basanta Lodge.
After breakfast, we depart along the ridge & descend through the wooded hillside and terraced farmland to the valley of Pokhara. We then transfer by vehicle to the Temple Tree Resort in Pokhara (30 minutes). On the way back to Pokhara, the vehicle can stop on request at the Tibetan refugee camp where you will have time to explore the temple complex. We’ll arrive around lunchtime. The rooms at the Temple Tree are built in classic style. Surrounding the rooms are landscaped gardens, water features, a swimming pool and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You’ll have a chance to enjoy our lunch and dinner at local restaurants. The afternoon is free to explore the lakeside where most of Nepal’s Tibetan curiosa shops are located. Pokhara, also nicknamed as the Lake City, is the second largest and most beautiful place in Nepal. The town offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna among others. Pokhara owns numerous lakes, known as ‘Tal’ in Nepali, and offers fishing, boating and swimming. We visit Devi’s Fall and the Gupteshwar Gufa Cave. We also make a sightseeing trip to some of Pokhara’s marketplaces, old bazaars and interesting landmarks. In the evening, there is a nice opportunity to explore the surrounding lakeside areas at sunset! Stay in Temple Tree Resort.
Today after breakfast we drive in 4 hrs south to the jungle of Chitwan. On arrival at the resort, we will receive a briefing prior to all activities and an afternoon safari or nature walk. The species diversity is much higher than any other on the Indian subcontinent. Rare species include Bengal tiger, gharial, rhino, leopards, mugger crocodile, Indian rock python and several species of deer. Stay in Kasara Resort.
The day is spent with an adventurous safari on an elephant’s back and a walk with a special nature guide through the jungle. There are also lectures on the wildlife of the Park. Boat trips are available on request. Stay in Kasara Resort.
After an early morning bird watch tour or crocodile spotting tour at the riverbanks viewing and breakfast, we will be transferred to the airfield. We’ll have a light lunch here before our 25-minute flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll visit on our way back to the resort Boudhanath, the largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal which is surrounded by monasteries. We will then return to the hotel where the rest of the day is free. Stay in Gokarna Forest.
